I remember back in November when I had a strong feeling that I was pregnant.  My period was a few days late, I was emotional (even commercials would and sometimes still make me cry), certain smells would get to me, I was feeling more tired, and my breasts were getting tender.  I knew that these were some of the early pregnancy symptoms so I anticipated a positive pregnancy test result, until a few days later I noticed some light spotting that made me mad.  My period had never been this late before!  I quickly did my research and learned that the light bleeding (spotting) may occur approximately 8 - 10 days from ovulation and it usually happens around the same time you would have gotten your menstrual period.  I thought I was starting my menstrual period, when in fact it was just an early first pregnancy sign! YAY!!! The reason for the spotting was because implantation was taking place which is when the fertilized egg burrows into the endometrial lining.

The next step for me was to take the home pregnancy test.  This test involves the same procedures as the ones done in a doctor’s office that tests for the presence of the hormone hCG (human Chorionic Gonadotropin) in the urine.  After a prior trial by error the day before, it came out positive, and I quickly told Cos.  I am glad I took the test because it gave me the opportunity to start taking the best care of myself within days of conception.  My Doctor confirmed the postive test result a few days later and followed it up with a complete physical examination.

Top ten symptoms of pregnancy include:

• missed menstrual period
• nausea
• extreme fatigue
• frequent urination
• tender breasts
• headache
• heartburn
• constipation
• spotting
• feeling faint

While some pregnant women experience many of these, others experience only a few

My period hasnt come yet..shhhhhh I may be pregnant!!!  Cos and I have been planning on getting pregnant after our Italy trip in the summer….so this could be it, but I don’t want to get my hopes up just yet, gonna buy some pregnancy tests soon.  It is Cos’s birthday tomorrow, that sure would be a nice birthday present for him.

Still no period, did the at home pregnancy test but it came out completely blank..hmmmm 1 line not pregnant, 2 lines pregnant.  What does no line anywhere mean!?!?!  UGH.. these tests aren’t cheap, i have one left and will try taking the test first thing tomorrow morning.  PS. Cos has no idea, hehe

So it is official..we are pregnant!!…Just got back from the Dr’s. office with the good news.  My Dr. kind of gave us the run around with the news though which was kind of frustrating, lol.  When I took the at home pregnancy test last week, and it came out positive, I told Cos and we were ecstatic, so i quickly booked a Dr’s. appointment to confirm and let my doc know.  So first thing when I walked into the office, the secretary gave me the urine bottle to do my thing and confirm that i was pregnant.  We went into the Dr’s. office and he told us that the result was a negative.  Cos and I looked at eachother and i could tell he was angry with me for getting his hopes up.  I asked my doc how this could be..cause i had all the symptoms of pregnancy - no period, sore boobs, emotional, etc.  He went to double check the test result and he came back and told us that it was definetely a positive and that the urine stick wasnt dipped in long enough. :). We are now 6 weeks pregnant!!  You don’t realize how much you really really want something until you think it has been taken away from you.  We were happy again, and celebrated by going to Red Robins.

We bought a Cadillac Escalade today!  Cos finally got rid of his old Chevy S15 Pick-Up truck, and since a baby is on the way he decided that it was time to spoil himself with a nice SUV truck.  Its a 2002, but looks brand new, just needs some chrome mags and a new grill, heheh, im starting to talk like Cos..  Its really roomy in there and soooo comfortable, i dont think we will use my Honda that much anymore now.

I am so excited today, cause we are gonna tell the parents and family that we are pregnant today!  We invited everyone over for a pre Christmas breakfast, heeheee..little do they know!  We are gonna take a pic and film the big announcement.  Right before Cos takes the picture, we will both say..cheese, we are having a baby!!  That way we get everyones reaction caught on film.  I will tell you how it goes!

It’s Christmas and I am sick as a dog.  I haven’t been this sick for ages, must be my lowered immune system cause im pregnant. All i feel like doing is lying down.  My Doc isn’t in and I hear that I can’t even take any meds so I guess I will just tough it out.  Oh, everyone was happy and surprised about the news, especially my sister, she had absolutely no idea.  My mom said she had a feeling that I was pregnant and that the announcement would come that day, must be mothers intuition or something. The picture turned out, but the video didnt..time for a new digital cam.

I had a great time at my 30th birthday party tonight.. We went to Hells Kitchen on West 4th, and the food and atmosphere was great. I found a pair of dress pants in my closet that still fit, so i was pretty happy about that. Cos’s friend Remo bought me a shooter, it was so funny, he had forgotten that I was pregnant.  Cos ended up drinking it instead…lucky guy!

Went for my first ultrasound today, very exciting!! I had to go in by myself for the first 10-15 minutes, then they called Cos in.  He didnt even look at me when he came in..lol, his eyes went straight to the screen with anxiousness, nervousness and excitement.  I cant wait to see him in the delivery room. HEHE we got to see the baby move around in my tummy on the monitor, but I didnt feel a thing, just the warm jelly the technician was moving around my stomach with the ultrasound device.  She got 2 pics which came out good. I am gonna buy a frame and put one of them in it.

We are leaving for Cancun tomorrow!..yay!  We got upgraded to a 5 star spa resort hotel cause the oringal one that we booked had no room left in the hotel.  No complaints here!  The pics on the site look great, so luxurios, i cant wait.  Here are some pics of the resort:  and i will be posting some here when we get back!..audios for now!!

First day back from our trip, and we found out that we got robbed…ugh.  We were so frantic.  Its really a bad sick feeling you get in the pit of your stomach, knowing that a stranger(s) have been in your home, rummaging through your personal belongings. I know everything will get sorted out eventually, but its just so shitty. One of the first things i did was check to see if our ultrasound pics were okay, and they were.

We got our new digital camcorder from insurance today.  It’s a JVC MIniDV Camcorder GR-D39OU. Im so thankful that our old JVC camcorder that got stollen didn’t have any important videos in it.  Cos usually puts it on the computer right away anyway.  Our new digital cam can take pictures as well as video and has a great 32X optical zoom that lets you get tight close-ups of your subject.  Im looking forward to using it when the baby is around, and maybe have a daddy and mommy cam before its born.

I bought my first pair of maternity pants today.  They are pregnancy jeans with a stretch band waste…ahhhhhh so comfortable.  Cost me $75.00, but worth every penny.  when you are pregnant and nothing fits you in your closet you dont care about how much you spend on feeling good.  I should get into the business.. “Nancy’s Maternal Wear” and make a fortune..HAHAHAHHA

We bought baby’s first toy today at Babies R’ Us, so cute..  Its a Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal.  We have decided to go with a Walt Disney Theme for the Babys room.  Cos is gonna add some of his artistic skills in there as well - I can’t wait!

Im definetely feeling the baby move now. Mostly at night.  Its the weirdest thing, a few times it actually scared me while I was on the verge of sleep cause it felt like someone nudged me from inside my stomach!

So Cos and I have been trying to get everything ready before the baby gets here.  Our stamped concrete and slate looks awesome now cause Cos pressure washed and sealed it last week, and the flowers on our landscape have bloomed.  I love Spring.  Days are warmer and nights are getting longer.  I’m glad the baby will be born in the summer.  We can have nice barbeque birthday parties for him or her outside in our backyard.  Oh the baby will be driving in style now, cause we got new chrome mags for our Escalade today, they look really hot, heheh.  That was Cos’s anniverary present, we met 10 years ago this year - May 11, 1996.  I’m still deciding what i want, I have something in mind but we will see…;)

I went to Metrotown with my sister yesterday and bought another 2 pairs of maternity pants.  I originally went in for a bra, but the one i was looking for was way too big! So salesperson told me to check out La Senza or The Bay.  I thought that i had been pretty lucky so far with my weight gain.  I like to think that i am only gaining wait in my tummy..but unfortunatley I found out today that my upper thighs touch while i stand up and i think im getting more cellulite on my ass :(  All worth it for a baby though

Yesterday was our 4th year wedding anniversary!  Boy does time sure fly..  We went to the same restaurant we went to 5 years ago, the night Cos proposed - “Cloud Nine”.  The view is awesome, and its neat how the restauraurant revolves around.  Later on we went to Tim Hortons and met Cos’s friend Rob there, he’s so funny.  I had to pee within 5 minutes of conversation.  Tonight we had family over, here are some pics from last night and tonight..ya I know…Cos and I are wearing the same clothes both nights..my pregnancy laziness must be rubbing off on him!  ps: I love my anniversary gift…new diamond stud earings!!!!

So there is this young cat that keeps coming around our house.  It never takes any food or water that we try to feed it, just wants our companionship i guess….that or he or she hears our birds!..lol  we named it “Reor”, and i think its a girl.  She loves to be pet, you should see the way Cos pets her, its pretty funny.  Here are some pics:
